Cha-Ching!

Warner Bros. Studios recently announced that the cast of F.R.I.E.N.D.S have agreed to do four one-hour long episodes for $5 million each. This after their declaration during the 8th,9th and 10th season that it would be their last. This after they had collectively decided that they wanted to exit on a high and they didn’t see the point in dragging the show any further.

Don’t get me wrong… I am an ardent follower of the show, although I feel that it got too emotional and sentimental from season 8 onwards with the weddings, pregnancies, births, adoption and reunion. The humour that had become synonymous with the show declined and it was just a wait for the studios to agree to pull the plug.

Although the writers did an amazing job of taking the show for that long with their ever crisp and witty lines, could they have done something different in the end? All I can say is they better come up with one helluva script if they want people to watch these episodes.
